Good evening all….How are y’all doing and what have you been up to?

If this is your first time here, Welcome to Selfmadelayefa but if you are an old subscriber, I’m glad to have you back.

Speaking of being up to something, I’ve been up to a lot lately especially after giving SOCIAL MEDIA a BREAK. I needed the time to push myself hard to work on a couple of posts I should have dropped several weeks back but I really hope you didn’t give up on me? I’ll do my possible best to make u really happy for the weeks ahead.

In today’s post, I will be talking about different ways to style that basic Tee you have in your closet and don’t even realize it’s there.
The post will be very short as the photos I will be dropping below will do all the talking.
But first, A Tee is a very affordable and versatile piece of clothing that probably has a lot of importance in our day to day dressing that you might have overlooked (Both Men and women).

Do follow me on this trend

Style a white Tee with a pair of Black denim pants

Style it as a layering piece and wear it under a dress

Style it in a basic, yet classy two piece Suit

Pair a white Tee with a black short skirt

Take a white Tee to the streets as seen below. They are my favorite

Style a white Tee with a Red skirt for that Valentine’s day look

Style a white Tee with the trending mom jean

It can also be styled with a short/pants alongside a jacket

Style a white Tee by pairing it with a denim skirt

So guys, there you have it. A couple of ways to style the basic white Tee. Hopefully you enjoyed it.

P.s: Each photo was carefully handpicked by me from my favourite App PINTEREST

Do you have a white Tee, If yes! How do you style it?

Good day Fam, Welcome back to Selfmadelayefa.

In today’s post, I will be precise as I will be sharing a few tips on how I care for my face using Apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar has various uses but I will focus on the facial aspect of it today and discuss on other uses in some other post. At this point, I wish I had a YouTube channel so as to show you instead of putting it down in writing but what can one do right?

Follow me and enjoy……

Step 1. Cover my hair with a silk scarf and get ready to remove my make up

Step 2. I apply pears baby oil on a cotton ball or a tissue paper depending on which is available at the moment and remove my makeup with it.

Step 3. I wash my face with soap (Dudu Osun). It’s an African black soap after which I rinse it off with water and pat dry.

Step 4. Mix 2 tablespoons of raw and unfiltered Apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl

Step 5. Take a cotton ball and soak in the mixture, afterwards apply it on the affected areas of my face.

Step 6. Leave it for 10-15mins and wash face with cold water

Step 7. Pat my face dry with a towel (I use a separate towel from the one I use on my body to avoid further irritations)

Step 8. Lay on my bed, close my eyes and am off to my memory lane. Lol

P.S I leave the Acv on my face overnight instead of rinsing it off after 15min. I do this at least 2 times a week to help reduce the appearance of pimples and acne scars

This is no different from what I do at night except the part where I have to moisturize the face.

Step 1. With my hair covered I wash my face with soap (Dudu Osun). It’s an African black soap.

Step 2. Rinse with warm water to open pores and Pat dry with a clean towel.

Step 3. Mix 2 tablespoons of raw and unfiltered Apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl.

Step 4. Soak cotton ball in the mixture and apply it all over my face. Allow to dry

Step 5. Next, I apply Shea butter on my face as my moisturizer.

It leaves my skin healthy, flawless and gives it a natural glow. Most times , I don’t even wear makeup after doing this. I just apply a little lip balm and am out.

There are few things to take note of when using Apple cider vinegar. These are

  • Heinz apple cider vinegar is 5% acidic so it’s necessary to mix ACV with water to avoid skin burn .
  • Try as much as possible to avoid your eyes as it can be peppery.
  • Endeavor to use more water if you have a sensitive skin.
  • Use twice daily (morning and night) to achieve faster results.

  • Removes dead skin
  • Prevents acne and pimples
  • Removes dark spots and helps in hyperpigmentation
  • Tones your skin and gives it a natural glow.

I started using ACV on my face about a month ago and i saw a huge difference on my skin in less than a week. Today I feel more confident about my face.

P.S You can get Apple cider vinegar in a local grocery store, ShopRite or even Spar. I got mine at Spar in Calabar. The most common apple cider vinegar is the BRAGGS brand which cost about N6000 to N7000 but you can get a substitute. Eg Heinz for about N2000 to N3000 depending on the one available and also affordable.

Hello beautiful people of the world! How are you doing today? Its a new month and am currently listening to “Walk on water by Eminem ft Beyonce”.

In today’s post, I will be sharing some details on why I decided to start my blogging journey. Truth is if I was asked this question a year ago, there wouldn’t have been an answer.

I started blogging for the purpose of fun until I became obsessed with blogs and as my love for the fashion world increased; I knew I had to do something about it and what better way to do it but blog.

That’s a very tough question…………I love fashion, beauty, lifestyle, travel, food, DIY projects and everything worth loving in this system. Tho I wasn’t sure how to put all these together but I was able to actualize a meaningful niche which is “Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle”. I also decided to share other parts on my Instagram so I won’t be missing out on anything I love afterall.

Look beyond what people are doing and do something different that you actually love and have a passion for

Absolutely! I can remember creating my first 2 blogs and never logged in. You may ask why? The reason is I had no clue where to start and at a point forgot the login deets. I made a comeback with . I mean how hard could it possibly be right? Boy was I in for a surprise.

I chose wordpress because it’s the most widely used content management system (CMS). It is also one of the best blogging platform plus it’s very easy to set up considering the free plan alongside the themes. For beginners, I recommend WordPress.

I didn’t have any thoughts of making money via blogging. Like I said earlier, I was here for fun. However, my thinking changed a while ago . How do I mean? I decided to indulge in blogging financially. Currently am affiliating with and and I think I’d start playing around with AdSense. Monetizing by blog is one of my 2018 blog goals and I really pray I keep up to it by December 7th when my blog clocks 2years.

Its a capital YES

  • Getting the right niche
  • Creating consistent and quality contents
  • Driving traffic of course, E.t.c.

Without a Doubt I am. I’ve been provided with several opportunities to attend events which time haven’t permitted me to. I have also had the privilege of meeting great people, Both those in the blogging industry and otherwise.

Thank you for following to this point but I have a question for you.

Do you have a blog?
If Yes! Why do you do it and what is it about?
If No! Why not

If you are considering starting one, Do it quickly and stop procastinating.

Blogging is a challenge and requires hard work. Don’t give up because those that work hard will reap it’s reward no matter how long it takes.

Good evening and a wonderful New month to all of you since it’s my first post in a while. If it’s your first time stopping by, You are highly welcome to my Blog and if you are an old subscriber, Welcome back.

Today I will be discussing the POLKA DOT TREND that’s taken over the summer and the the effect it’s had in our world of fashion.

The polka dot trend has been around for over a century and it returns every now and then especially during the summer. Undeniably, I have never been a fan of dotted outfits which means I didn’t have anything made out of it until recently.

I have always associated polka dots with Minnie Mouse and never thought of the possibility that I could actually slay in it.

Up until a few weeks ago, I believed this trend to be kids fashion but everything changed when I read some articles online. So many blogs talked about it but this particular one was of so much inspiration to me. “Nonye of Her outfit was everything and those sleeves? They were literally the Bomb. I figured i had to jump on this trend to prove to myself especially that I can be bold in this. Do check her out, she’s really amazing.

This is my favorite part. If you noticed, I experimented two different backdrops of polka dot. At first, I was reluctant since I have never mixed prints before. I kept wondering how people would look at me but I realized “I shouldn’t be afraid to be different and not worry so much about being judged or even accepted.

The top has a white backdrop and it’s made of creppe. Its an off shouldered elastic top that features bold black dots with statement sleeves.

The shorts on the other hand has a black backdrop and it’s constructed in creppe also. It features white dots but this time, smaller ones.

I paired my outfit with a black mini bag and a pair of Nude Mules.

Top and shorts – Made by my Tailor. Tho it’s the first time she pulled out something for me, I loved it and I’d really like to work with her some more (Both went for N4000)

Mini bag – N4000

Mules – N2000 (Roadside vendor)

Makeup – Done by me

Photography – My Big sister
